New S60 Browser

Wow, the new web browser for S60 looks pretty cool and promises to enable a full web browsing experience on mobile devices.

It's based on WebCore and JavaScriptCore, as used in Safari and Konqueror.

It comes with support for HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0, CSS 1, 2 & 3 (partial), DOM 1 & 2, SVG-Tiny, ECMAScript and a plugin architecture for extras such as Flash Lite.

It's only for some of the newer Nokia phones at present, but this is something I find really interesting. In the UK, phones are upgraded about every 16 months, so we're looking at 2 years for this to be on the vast majority of phones. This is when the desktop web and mobile web really merge into one.
