A Hitch In Time On DVD
I recieved my copy of the excellent film A Hitch In Time through the post today.
This is one of the Children's Film Foundation films I remember seeing on TV when I was younger. It stars ex Doctor Who, Patrick Troughton, as Professor Wagstaff who has created a time machine called OSKA. Basically he sends two children back to various times in the past and they are trying to get back to the future.
The real genius of the storyline is that their nasty history teacher Sniffy Kemp. He claims his great, great, great grandfather won the Victoria Cross at Waterloo, until it was pointed out that the VC wasn't awarded until after the Crimean War. "The equivalent boy, the equivalent". However, as the children go back through time, all the villains they encounter are the ancestors of Sniffy Kemp.
It's available from Blackstar as Saturday Morning Pictures - The Best Of The Children's Film Foundation - Vol. 3, for 8.99. Well worth it!
