Steamed Cod With Ginger And Spring Onions
This is a really simple dish that only takes a few minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to cook. The steamed cod just melts in the mouth while the ginger and spring onions give it a welcome bite. A simple soy and seseame sauce finishes it off nicely. This recipe serves two people and you'll need a bamboo steamer to cook it in.
You'll need the following ingredients...
- 2 Cod Loins (or skinned boneless fillets)
- 1 Bunch of Spring Onions
- 1 Small Piece of Ginger
- 1 tbsp Seseame Oil
- 2 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
Follow the instructions below...
- Put some water in a large pan and boil.
- Peel and cut the ginger into small batons.
- Cut the spring onions into 2 inch diagonals.
- Cut the cod into bitesize chunks.
- Arrange in the cod in the steamer and place the ginger and spring onions on top and seal tightly with the lid.
- Place the steamer over the boiling water, and turn it down to simmer for 10 minutes.
- Just before the 10 minutes is up, mix the soy sauce and seseame oil together and heat.
- Serve the cod on a plate and pour the soy and seseame sauce over it.
- Enjoy!
I serve this with plain basmati rice and nice cold glass of white wine. It's definately a dish to impress someone special with.
